Want to eat like a pregnant woman with cravings? Try this recipe for queso dip using ingredients you may already have in your kitchen, or are not above going to the grocery store to get, whether or not you are still in your pajamas! It's not quite restaurant-style, but it'll at least get you through breakfast.
QUESO BLANCO DIP
8 oz Monterey Jack cheese, finely shredded
4 oz can green chiles, drained a bit and chopped fine
4-6 oz cream cheese
a couple dashes onion powder (or, if you're not pregnant and lazy, 2 T. onion, chopped teensy)
2 tsp. cumin
1 tsp. dried cilantro (or 1 T. fresh, if you're fancy)
salt to taste
Mix all ingredients in a double boiler; cook, stirring occasionally, until goopy. If necessary, add up to 1/4 cup half-and-half or milk to thin. Scoop and eat with tortilla chips; plain tortillas; or your greedy, shameful fingers.
