Meet Baby Clive
The results are in: meet Clive, our one and only embryo. S/He is 2.12 cm long and enjoys poetry and long walks on the beach. Based on his size, I'm at 8 weeks 5 days gestation - due date June 4. This baby will graduate from high school in the year 2026, assuming high schools haven't been replaced by flying cars and insta-knowledge transferrence via microchips. But I digress.
Seriously, that's a picture of a baby - see it? Not the big black blob - that's the inside of my uterus. Clive is the
little swimmy gray blob inside the big black blob. The pointy part on the left is his head, the round part on the right is his tush, and you can just see the beginnings of the ideas that will grow into arms and legs that will flail around and mash on my bladder and make me have to pee seventy-four times a night. But right now Clive is tiny and perfect, with a heart rate of 160 and the silhouette of Toad, and I am peeing seventy-four times a night anyway.
Holy crap. I'm really pregnant.
